I have prepared chitosan nanoparticles and drug loaded chitosan nanoparticles through ionic gelation. I got a very compact pellet. I tried to dissolve them in simple deionized water, PBS solution with ph. 7.4 and 2.03 and in DMSO but to no avail. Can anyone suggest me good solvents to dissolve the nanoparticles so that I can carryout trials on cancer cell lines

The best solvent for preparing chitosan NPs is acetic acid (0.1 %) and after solving in this solvent and finding a mono-disperse solution, you can decrease and control its pH via NaOH (0.1 M) to reach desirable pH.
I suppose you want to disperse (not dissolve) them. How did you obtain the pellet? If it formed by itself you do not have nanoparticles (assuming that you had).
