"Where does bacterial replication start? Rules for predicting the oriC region"
It mentioned:
1. "Three methods, based on DNA asymmetry, the distribution of DnaA boxes and dnaA gene location, were applied to identify the putative replication origins."
2. Before bacterial genome was completely sequenced during sequencing era and used for prediction, Lobry (1996) was the first to find bias (asymmetry) in nucleotide composition in some bacterial chromosomes. This asymmetry was later found out associated with the replication of the leading and lagging strands. Please refer to the details in the paper. Good luck,
why do you need it BEFORE DNA sequensing? There are several servers which are searching nucleotides disparaties, dnaA boxes and dnaA locations in sequenced genomes to predict Ori.
