i am looking for some guidelines to using silastic tubing for implanting hormones in mice. I need to provide 50ug of drug released every day. Has anyone worked with them and would be willing to guide me the required specifications for this dosage?

are infusing the drug daily and constantly ? and for how long, is it a week or more?
by implantation do you mean intermittent or permanent?

The video you shared is an excellent one. My plan is to implant a silastic tubing (one time) to release 50ug of drug every day to my mice. the required specification for silastic tubing is 0.078 cm-inner diameter/0.125 cm- outer and i am not sure how much length of tubing should i use for this drug delivery since it depends on surface area of tubing. i am llooking for any mathematical calculation that can help me find the exact dosage/cm of this tubing.
Hi Abbas, I 've been searching for such math calculation you mentioned, so far no luck, but this what i think you need to do, you need to control your variables. meaning. you have the dosage figured out, that's fine, then you need to know where the tubing should go, the jugular vein or femoral. the tubing size you are stating does not fit neither, its too big to fit

which means you want to insert the silastic implant either in the subcutaneous space or abdominal cavity, which is fine. and true the length of the catheter will decide your dead volume, what I will do at this point is, simple, trial and error, fill up the catheter. to 1cm length, spill it in an Eppendorf tube and measure the weight of the drop, then equalise by crossings , eg ( if 1 cm = 100ul, for example, 50ul equals how much cm?
