I would like to know if someone working with MCF10A cells can help me to know if adding or not the cholera toxin to the culture growth medium fro MCF10A cells makes a big difference in the cell growing.
While I personally have never tried growing the cells without cholera toxin, it's typically not advised to remove components from the media formulation.
today I have this problem with mammary cell line MCF10A.... what did you do?
I search about this and I found that cholera toxin role is increase cycline AMP in cell . indicated that cholera toxin-cyclic AMP has effects on the proliferation of keratinocytes in culture biphasically according to cellular concentrations in culture.
I've been trying to culture the MCF10A cels in the ATCC recommended media (MEGM+supplements), without the Cholera Toxin and I've been having difficulties to culture them. We've decided to buy the cholera Toxin and see if by adding it to the growth media, the cells grow better. I will let you know
Hi .Today I culture the MCF10A cells without supplements(Cholera Toxin and ...) and change media (just DMEM without F12) and i tryed to adappted this.after two passage I think not necessary add suplements!
