While recording high speed images of MCF7 cells flowing in a microfluidic device, I've observed that some cells appear much brighter than the rest of the population.
I've read that cells, just before they divide, become very bright. Could this possibly be the reason for my observation ?
I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions here.

Cell division of MCF7 usually involves rounding up. From your description, I assume you use BrightField microscopy. Depending on the mode of microscopy (e.g. DIC) you can expect a change in refractive index of the cell in the region of rounding off, to result in bright spots in the centre. More information on your mode of imaging will help.
