a) What are the advantages and disadvantages of converting 3 psychometric scales having different response formats (4-point/5-point/7-point rating) scales into same format (10 point rating) scale for data collection?

b) What are the advantages and disadvantages of standardizing (z score/t-score) or rescaling (0-100) the responses of scales with different rating formats (4-point/5-point/7 point/10 point) after data collection to perform statistical analysis?

c) How does homogeneity (all tools with 10 point rating scale) or heterogeneity(tool 1 has 7 point rating scale, tool 2 has 4 point/10 point rating scale) in the rating format effects the statistical analysis : correlation/ reliability/regression/factor analysis/Structured Equation modelling.

d) What is more preferable

1) to change the scales into homogenous rating before data collection or

2) to standardize/re-scale the scores after data collection or

3) to keep the ratings as they are?
