It is well accepted that human macrophages, according to their differentiation state are not dividing anymore, but why is it different for murin macrophages?
Interesting question, it seems that human macrophages don't always have the same (micro)environmental cues as murine macrophages.
A possible explanation is that more murine studies are performed with younger (neonatal) macrophages, compared to human adult macrophages.
Perhaps human macrophages have a higher threshold for inducing division (and activation) than murine macrophages.
Thanks a lot for your answer.
