23 October 2018 7 5K Report

I tried to synthesize oleic acid capped Fe3O4 nanoparticles and much to my surprise, they provide a strange XRD pattern (when started from 5 degrees (2 theta)). It shows a peak at ~7 (50% relative intensity meaning the second largest) and a peak at ~19 ( ~ 100% RI meaning the largest peak). I have attached the XRD image down below for better assessment. An exception to this is AA60 and AA40, in which ~7 degree peak is at 100% while other peaks which are normally dominant in Fe3O4 are not exactly prominent.

Could it be possible that the crystal structure is BCT instead of FCC.

Any help would be highly appreciated. Urgent requirement.
