Why in most research papers, the DNA standard for fungi qPCR is preffered to be cloned themselves other than purchased from commercial product?

I'm doing qPCR for fungi ITS2 region, which uses ITS3KYO2 and ITS4 primer pair. But I get stuck on getting the sequence of that region for purchasing commercial DNA standards. Most of my references use their own amplified DNA as their standard, therefore no sequence is provided. Should I follow the same method? Or using gene bank sequence data for fungal ITS?
