Wide banded stripes are displayed in the image window and narrower stripes in the beam alignment mode. They can be reduced by drastically decreasing the brightness. However, the scanned image will be too dark for any practical use. Look for immediate suggestions.Thanks.
You may try out with the following things to see if they help:
1. During operation, which you're seeing the lines in live image, switch off all the lights in the lab, and see if the lights vanish. If so, this might be coz of ingress of light into one of the detector PMTs. A thorough investigation of the machine would reveal the issue. Also check if CCD camera is left on by mistake.
2. Turn off vacuum gauge (i.e. electrical supply to the vacuum gauge head) during operation, and check if lines vanish.
3. Check if there is any electric signal over-riding the SE detector output.
4. Check for electromagnetic fields in the lab, and see if there is any increase beyond the acceptable limit.
