I need to measure the release of rhBMP-2 in cell culture medium from immobilization of the protein in a scaffold and I have only the two options. Thanks in advance.
1) The R&D company is known to have tha the best quality control on the market.
2) The sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility of the assay is very high.
3) They usually provide prediluted standards, so the standard curve in my experience is always perfect. This is unfortunatelly not always true for the cusabio products.
4) You do not need heat incubation. The whole assay is performed on room temperature.
Here are some extra advices: Make a pilot experiment first to titrate your sample dilution. The user manual usually recommends a dilution of 1:4 but this might not apply for cell culture media. The wells are removable, so you can save wells and material for the "real" measurements.
Dear Vasile, thank you very much for your answer, I pretend to make this assay soon in my doctoral thesis. I don´t have experience in the use of these commercial ELISA Kits, and for this reason I resorted to this great tool. I hope your answer help me in my purposes.
We used the R&D Kits for exactly this purpose and it worked like a charm. Reproducible results and the fact that you can remove wells is also really convenient.
Also for not very experienced users this kit performes really well. We also did everything on room temperature.
We also had some kits from Cusabio, for very speical applications like measuring cytokines in guinea pig tears (since they were the only available ones for guinea pigs)
with mixed results, but that might have been due to the nature and stability of the sample.
