Dear researchers,
I would like to carry out dialysis on my plant extract before carrying out SDS-PAGE.
Beside 0.2M sodium acetate buffer (pH 5) can as dialysis buffer, may I know which dialysis buffer I should use?
Any suggestion.

Use the buffers in which your protein is stable, you have to read previous papers

If possible, do not use a buffer with high ionic strength, like 100mM phosphate, or 20mM phosphate, 500mM NaCl, etc.
If your sample carries over lots of salt into the sample prep for SDS-PAGE, you will get funny lanes. In extreme cases, the look very broad at the top of the gel and disappear into a thin line at the bottom.
