I am wondering which stem cells are referred to when talking about stem cells derived from adipose tissue. Anyone know? I know cd34 and cd133 positive cells are among them, but that can't be all can it? Any that can be obtained simply by centrifugation?
In my experience, ADSCs can be defined as CD34+ CD31- CD104b- SMA- cells.
However, they are notoriously difficult to define completely due to some of the factors above, such as CD31, being lost in culture anyway when trying to purify these cells. Typically they are thought of as MSCs (mesenchymal stem/stromal cells) and can easily be differentiated in to fibroblasts above all else.
