I am aiming to distribute an online survey through social media with the target audience being generation z consumers that purchase in the fashion industry. I wasn't sure what type of sampling method would be used for this as I need to include this in my research proposal.

share your study goal set and whether products already exist or it is exploratory survey . There is nothing like fashion industry surveys specifically. techniques remain same only sampling method and questions change.
Once we know variables you have decided and population size and geographical coverage more specific answer can begiven. if you have existing products there will be significant change in approach
I sort of agree with Dr Gupta. Look at some references on online surveys and understand that standard statistics methods don't apply here. Best wishes, David Booth
