I am using copper as electrode material in the model of a triboelectric nanogenerator in COMSOL. The module is electrostatic. In COMSOL, the built-in relative permittivity of copper metal is 1. However, this is not correct as relative permittivity of a metal is close to infinity. What value should I insert then?

I think you have to take blank material and insert the value manually. Also, you can use the parametric sweep for the values to use manually.

When you are using these materials like Cu, Au, etc as an electrode you must use terminal domain or boundary on them or electric potential boundary condition to give them a proper electric potential. this will tell the module that there is no need for defining permittivity dielectric numbers in them. you can research other boundary conditions you may need.
