I never tested effects of vitamin D both in rodents and humans but it is easy to find some articles on the topic via PubMed

I known articles via PubMed and I known that their results are very different .

Since Alzheimer disease is also knows as DM type 3 or central DM, maybe this article might help since it deals with DM and vit D relation. 

Vit D is also an important immunomodulator, therefore it surely has an effect on the inflammatory component of neurodegeneration (presuming it being the main cause of lower cognitive performance). So searching for vit D and relations to microglia/astrocytes might also bring something.

To Karlo Toljan : I have read the article you have proposed. It's interesting but it does not  add nobody of original and nobody regarding the relationship between vitamina D and cognitive function.......

Is Alzheimer  a central DM ? I don't known. I don't think so.
