i have prepared nickel based thin film with saccharinas an additive. will it reduce stress? if yes please tell me why? will sulfur content present in eds spectrum? is it considered as the source of sulfur?
Saccharin is a brightener for nickel plating. From my understanding it has a tendency to collect in areas of high electric field strength (high points) during plating, this effectively occludes the site until the field strength re-homogenizes. At this point it drifts away to another high electric field site to repeat the process. I don't think it should be incorporated into the plated surface but I have never done the analysis.

Good --Thio urea is a known corrosion inhibitor for the past 200 years it postpones hydrogen evolution ; Any organic compound with nitrogen and Sulphur act as a brightener. thio urea is well known
