Most journals don't demand for recommendation and it can hardly be seen in publications. Anything wrong to include recommendations to appreciate others who contributed to the success of the publication? How relevance is it to publications?
In my opinion, recommendations by fellow researchers is an acknowledgment and appreciation of research work. It helps in wider reach to researchers.
The research work is cited only in those research work which are directly related.
Recommendation is just to encourage our colleagues to do better in future.
As Dr Pundir rightly answered it is to acknowledge and appreciate someone's efforts.
For me, a recommendation is a confirmation by RG members that the article is worthy of consideration by other scholars interested in the subject. In some cases, I may cite some in my own publications. In such cases, it could become a citation.
All previous responses add value to the question and so, I recommend them (including question).

Its immensely valuable to know that your efforts have been acknowledged, as the alternative is simply readership as on some of these sites certain disciplines dominate and few people may be working on the same problems.
Of course, we all know that some recommendations are given frivolously but does it matter that much?
It's a sign of appreciating the efforts of others, tapping them on for greater achievements while making them feel worthy of their research.
Recommendation in an article gives motivation and encouragement to The Researcher.
i think it helps to show that researchers in the field agree and see value in the paper. This means that a recommended publication is a good publication
I agree with Dr Ashok Pundir and i added that the recommendations are to confirm the importance of the idea and results of the research and its applications, a reference to the support of the researcher
I think that the inclusion of the recommendations at the end of any research represent new ideas have been installed in the light of the results of an experiment by the researcher and therefore very important to complete a series of research to solve problems and develop a specific topic to reach the best results, and recommendations may be guaranteed by the researcher in what he did not His experience and recommend others to do because of its importance in solving the problem that the researcher tried to solve through his research.

Reader responses and recommendations do show that the author is willing to take the scientific discourse beyond the written article; I do think, such communications are valuable sources of research, in terms of co-operation.Even the best article is also work in progress.
If the journal formatting and style are against to add recommendation as subsection, you may include it at the end of your conclusion.
In an article a writer speaks its mind & language & while expressing the same he has a feeling that he has given a justice to his publication his writings make get appreciation or otherwise as it is very likely that individual mind differs in the sense that One mans food is another man poison .

recommendation of an article may give some read to an article, It encourage our colleagues for their sharing work.
Recommendations in article publication are extremely important because, they are part of the reasons for the research in the first place. You conduct a study or a research to proffer solutions to problems and these findings can serve as policy recommendations for the government in power.
In another vein, recommending other RG members research items is a way of encouraging them to keep up the good work in doing quality research.
