Not so much changes in job and life, but, yes, the people are happy around, Christmas, new year parties going on, we receive and send lots of messages for best wishes for new year and Christmas, definitely all this, positively affects mood.
On me personally it not effect any way, but most of the people around me would take the holidays seriously. We have to take into account this circumstance. Sometimes, when I schedule a business conversation at 10 am on January 1, I hear weak (and not real) objections, then I have to correct myself. Holidays cannot be completely ignored.
Once I was driving on January 1 at 12:00 in a completely empty city. It was very strange, especially since exactly a day ago all the streets were stuck in hard traffic jams.
The same tradition, no impact on scientific research and teaching, only the optimism of getting more funding in the New Year budget, a new year is happy for everyone
I just started to work as a translator as well as consultant academic trainer at the Cactus Communications, while continuing my follow-up researches. Teaching and Research, everything is endless.
A slight effect. We are given a one day holiday, then we resume work. One has to be always ready to resume work and research and if there are any effects they should be positive.
No effect for me in terms of teaching and research. People at Christmas are happy to have concerts, exchange greetings, gifts and wishes for a new year that is much better than last year and this of course has a very positive positive impact on the psychological state of these people.
Nice question!! Holidays, festivals are very much required for teachers, resesrchers, and every one. After longer period of continuously working, we require to take a rest. During holidays, we get lot of time to think, plan, we use to meet our relatives, friends which is essential for maintaining our physical and mental health.
Hi dear Dr. Ashok Pundir,, I agree with you that ((the festive period as well as year end helps in refreshing our minds and add to energy. So that helps in better concentration on teaching and researching)).
It is wonderful question for this time of festival holiday!
First of all, happy new year dear Dr. Segun and for all people arround the world.
Secondly, about the answer: this is depend on the environments, circumstances and the religion differences of world wide distribution areas. However, regarding me: No effect.
For me no effect at all, I work as usual, but for my students it leads to decreased concentration at classes and they reduce their time for learning...
Our mind requires rest for which indirectly we get with the joy & pleasure in the environment of the festival & our rest after enjoying places certainly help after the relaxation of our mind to contribute in the line with a thinking phase of whatever the contribution we are to carry out for our programming plan .
Get done with the outstanding work so I will not carry over arrears into the new year. Then my sleep will be sweet during the holidays without carry-overs. Also as a geologist, keep both eyes open even while on holidays in case a new exposure brings out a gold mine, one never can tell.
