Dear respected Colleagues, your candid opinion is required on this. Do you think world would be safer without politics (cause of major war) and science (cause of major environmental issues)?. Thanks.
I think, world would be saver with politics and science.
There are millions of issues that work without any of our input because politicians and science take care of it for us. What are politicians and science being replaced with? Is the alternative no government/anarchy? It's hard to envision a system that would be a good alternative to science and politics.

Simply "No' . Though politics and science have some drawbacks due to wrongly handling, the world has been built by politics and scientific inventions. Revolutions . Here, engaging war is not under politics rather distractions from politics caused wars damaging the world.
Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. But I note that there is a direct correlation between technological progress and the rise of many social, political, economic, war and instability problems. This does not mean that scientific progress increases the problems but just a note.
The world we live in like the moon has a dark side and a bright side as well, so we always try to be on the side that the others see, the dark side (political and other disasters) is part of our lives that we have to accept and live within anyway. For this aspect that we all are trying to address according to our potential as peoples and countries.
So long as human society is organized, not living in our natural state, there will be politics. Politics is the art of governing a civil society. Does politics cause war? In general, the answer is no. Politics in modern society function to prevent warfare. It is the competing interests among individual politicians, hiding behind the facade of politics and interests of states, that cause conflicts around the world.
If politics is about managing resource distribution, be it natural or otherwise, conflict is inevitable. However, conflicts could be managed. It is is unmanageable conflicts that causes wars around the world.
Attempts in conflict management had failed in the past due to many factors. The League of Nations (1920) after WWI did not prevent the coming of WWII. The UN (1945) did not prevent subsequent conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc. As long as there are rogues leaders with people to support them in the name of the State or nation, there will always be the risk of war breaking out somewhere.
The failure of politics creates war. The success of politics creates peace. the intermittent state of affairs between success and failure in politics is the emotional roller coaster ride of the common people.

Politics is a process of making decisions with regard to members of a group. Broadly speaking, we practice it in our daily life, for e.g. our houses, classrooms, etc. If you mean politicians that lead the world, we need good and honest politicians to lead the World to peace and security.
Both politics and science are essential for our existence. The world will be safer without corrupt politicians and those who misuse science to push their selfish agenda.
Definitely the world can not work without a general control, because so there would be an agreement between the different perspectives, on how society should work, that for politics, with respect to science, the truth I consider that the world could less Being, we currently have multiple problems, even having science, now imagine if we did not have it?
If there will be no science and politics, then, there will be something similar to them, as we humans have novel ideas to create something destructive and disturbing along with many constructive and creative things.
Throughout the ages, competition continues, there are stages of instability and the restoration of natural equilibrium takes longer, the integration of politicians and scientists may be in accelerating balance, stability can not be achieved without both
The world may be safer without politics if you just take a look at what is happening worldwide. The political system has gone awry and needs to be fixed. With respect to science, we still need science even though some scientific discoveries have brought about destructive results.
Intriguing question; but you forgot to complete the question by adding their confluence-RELIGION. Once leadership/management and technology/innovation are inevitable in any human institution, the world would have definitely been a jungle-a crude vase expanse of empty space without order and civility. Remember, every system has its own merits and demerits; but ours is to deliberately and collectively work to cut down the demerits. My small view though!!!.
The question to your answer is 'No'. Politics is important for running a country's administration, while science is important for progress of a country.
Yes, upon my view dear Dr. Segun I am sure that world without politics may became more saver and more stable definitely. But, I doubt that without science it became more save and stable.
The world with politics and science wouldn't be safer. What the world needs to maintain peace and security is wise people who lead the world to peace and avoid wars in settling disputes.
The One Law, Self Interest taking care of my own needs, governs all human behavior, including those in power, so the power of the Government must be limited.
The best way to limit the corruption in government would be an open source AI.
Solutions to limit the corruption in Government till AI technology improves would be:
Term Limits of One Year.
Abolish Campaign Donations
Abolish Government Right to prosecute with out a real victim.
Abolish Executive appointment of Judges and give Judges Term Limits
There are two sides to a coin. Surely the recent scientific and technological advancements have caused us certain challenges; however, we also need to look at the numerous wonders science and technology have brought to us. In the meantime, it is not science's fault that the would and the people in it are suffering; it is the fault of the people who are miss using science for destruction and selfish gains.

The answer is straightforward... Without politics, the world is definitely better... No doubt about that... As about sciences, if they forget where they aim to, which means to help human being to understand more about the marvels of our nature, then we go also into the wrong direction... So sciences must be aimed to true research, humbleness, a better understanding and apprehension of our wonderful universe where mankind is just a small part of dust into the cosmos.)) That is my humble opinion and I think it is right to follow such a path where people of all the world work together without any interference. Thank you very much for your question.)) Sincerely yours, Alexandre Solcà
If I understand your question; you intend to understand whether the world will be a safer place without Politics and Science.
I guess a lot have already been said and the answer has been summed up by Eman H. Utman.
Just permit me to add a little.
Everything in the world has some political connotations. Politics as has been indicated by Political Scientists is about the administration, governance, distribution and management of our scarce resources; the management of affairs, the ordering of society, the maintenance of peace and security, the key to ensuring the welfare of the citizenry, etc.
It has also been said to be the alternate allocation or valued resources and as such is about making decisions pertaining to "who gets what, when, and how."
If we are to understand Politics in these summarised terms and conceptualisations, then we will appreciate that Politics is everywhere - in the home, Church, Mosque, market place... I mean everywhere! Yes some scholars even believe that Politics is also in the "bedroom" (of course I can't elaborate on that here).
In effect, our lives is a Political one which leads Aristotle to argue that "man is by nature a political animal." This implies that Politics is not just what the politicians and 'politricktians' do - we are all involved in it in one way or the other. So I would argue on the contrary that the world will rather be unsafe without Politics.
On the question of Science I concur with the position of @Alexandre Solcà but I strongly disagree with his position on Politics.
The risks of politics are more dangerous than all other risks. I agree wit Dr. Segun Michael Abegunde that science and modern technology cause a lot of damage to the environment, but these negative consequences can be handled carefully to minimize their risks on the environment.
The cause of Increased Risk of War is Standing Armies. To reduce this risk, in America, the 2nd amendment was to have a local militia of young men trained and to have the population armed. This worked well until the laws were changed in 1914 and since then there has been war for profit.
Environmental disasters happen. We clean them up, we learn from our mistake and we continue to innovate and develop our way out of problems this is also known as progress.
To reduce Political corruption I have observed the problem and see some solutions
Real Term Limits. 2 years and that is it.
Abolish Pensions for Politicians and Government Workers need to contribute to their pensions and pensions need to match private sector.
Abolish Campaign Lobby/donations.
Create a Campaign Fund all campaigns have equal and transparent access to, vote on the one who successfully stretches their dollar to get their message out.
Abolish the Government's right to prosecute without a real victim.
Abolish Plea Bargaining power of the Prosecuting Attorney, who is ladder climbing, look at Kamala Harris.
Separate the Judicial from the Executive and Legislatives influence through appointment which has corrupted the Supreme Courts.
Judges should be voted on by lawyers and they should have term limits.
Abolish Federal Borrowing,
Debt to Equity swap by convert current Treasury Bill/Bond debt to an Equity Coupon,
The largest holders of US Debt are the American Retirees collecting SS (the FUnd is 100% Treasury Bill) as well as Pensioners whose assets are in US Treasuries, Most public pensions are usually up to 60% or more invested in Government Debt.
Abolish the 16th Amendment a form of Legal Government Slavery through the Direct Taxation of Income of the Individual. Return the Federal Government to lawful indirect taxation.
Of course, without politics and science, the world is doomed. But both politics and science in their present form do not meet the expectations of people. Too many ambitions, self-promotion, the desire to be visible, etc. The results of the actions of politicians do not correlate in any way with the wishes of the majority of voters (but not their election promises - current politicians who have lost confidence are quickly replaced ... with exactly the same, but without a negative aura). In science, the same mechanisms often work. The purpose of research is not to improve life, but to receive grants, contracts, etc. All together it looks hopeless.
Better politics and better science is urgently needed.
Concerning the government of our polities, we need to introduce economic democracy and community-level decision making (ordo socialis and not the eternal shadow of big business).
Concerning the organization of science, we need to create a learning society and to free science from the dictate of the industrial assembly line (open science and not a closed hierarchical dogma shop).

Against these possibilities of human progress stand massive inherited privileges, monopolies and the cronyism of the power structure machinery ('the pyramid').
An important cognitive key is to understand the balance of ownership and stewardship, i.e. that wealth is a loan, which needs good custodians.
Such goals can only be achieved via economic liberty and not by comintern bureaucracies.
A world without politics means: a world without cities and global administration. Because 'politikos' in greek means: all what have to do with the city. I don't want a world without politicians. I want fair and independent systems of evaluation of the politicians, and them judged only on their results.
