A case with portal hypertension and Cirrhosis since 4 years having Ascitis since 1 month. What will be the prognosis specific to this case and in general as well?
Only portal hypertension (with/without GI bleed) in chronic liver disease
Compensated cirrhosis.
Cirrhosis with ascites (decompensated)
Cirrhosis with ascites with GI bleed.
However prognosis varies according to etiology being treatable (e.g. hepatitis virus, autoimmune hepatitis, Wilson's disease) or continuous injury (e.g. alcohol)
As the liver disease progress the complications increase and the prognosis worsens. For these reasons is necessary to detect early all of them , to treat well and to include in liver transplantaron program if possible
Cirrhosis complications, to ultimately HCC, in loco cirrhotica, are power signs for severity of this condition. Moreover, and cirrhosis itself show terminal and ireversibile stad of more chronic liver disease.
Thank you for your question. Assessing the severity of the disease and the patient survival is based on several classification methods. This paper may give you an example to one method.

Abstract
The modern paradigm considers cirrhosis as a dynamic and potentially reversible disease. It consists of two different entities, compensated and decompensated cirrhosis, each with a distinct prognosis and different predictors of survival. The development of portal hypertension is a hallmark in the history of cirrhosis, and its progression parallels that of the disease. In consequence, portal pressure measurement by means of HVPG allows stratifying cirrhosis in stages with defined outcomes, prognosis, and management strategies.
Have been treating such cases from 2 decades.Ayurveda management is very promising in most cases to reverse cirrhosis and prevent and manage Ascitis secondary to liver diseases. Hypertension when not managed leads to complications and leads to cirrhosis, ascitis etc. If patient follows all restrictions in diet and lifestyle ...prognosis is really promising.
