I am using Guanidium Thiocyanate (chaotropic agent) for RNase inhibition at the time of RNA isolation. Guanidium Thiocyanate is a very strong reagent compare to Guanidium Hydrochloride. RNA is weaker than DNA. When we use this strong reagent for the RNA isolation whether it causes to denature of the RNA or not? Then why we are mostly using Guanidium Thiocyanate for RNA isolation.
