During cell division (mitosis & Meiosis), the chromosomes divide. In which stage these duplicated chromosomes becomes individual chromosomes? is it true that any chromatin strucure consisting of DNA, protein and CENTROMERE can be called a chromosome?

As DNA, proteins and centromere are duplicated during S phase of cell cycle, in which stage we can call them individual chromosomes: prophase when spindle fibers are attached to each centromere or during anaphase when chromosomes actually separate?
