I am looking for the nucleotide sequence of a particular gene in NCBI. But results obtained in large numbers and as predicted. Are sequences predicted to be trusted? How might one obtain these sequences?
'Predicted' genes are exactly as they are described: only predicted. They may or may not be real.
Click on the details of the gene and the level of evidence will be documented. Click all the links and read it all. Usually, the prediction is based on computational analysis of nucleotides showing similarity to a known protein.
I want to found a mRNA sequences at nucleotid database. For example in the follow link: "http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/?term=carbonic+anhydrase+bombyx+mori"
results 7-15 are PREDICTED. Whats diffrent between this results?
