I want to run a western blot to detect albumin from serum sample. I usually use BSA as blocking buffer, but obviously, I can't use it for this case. What blocking buffer would you recommend to run my WB?
Since albumin is by far the most abundant component of serum, I'm wondering why you need a Western blot to detect it. If you Coomassie stain a gel of serum, the main band will be albumin.
Thank you for your answers! Actually I am isolating exosomes from fetal bovine serum, but I want to be sure that I am not carrying serum proteins like albumin in my sample (I need an ultrapure sample). I bought an antibody, anti-albumin, and I was testing whether it works or not.
