They are qPCR based assays of sets of miRNAs belonging to different pathways or diseases. However, the arrays can be customized.

Arrays (miRNA chips) would be useful. NGS is an adequate alternative, too.

Moreover, I would also says that a TaqMan Array Card is possibly, as mentioned before.
