High pH is major problem for crop yields in my region. I am thinking of enlisting all the factors pH depends upon and establish a mathematical model from those relationship, starting from very simple relations to keep adding factors to improve the model. Objective is to somehow look for scenarios in which pH could be reduced in field by few points, say in few years.
For his to achieve, my first task is to find out all the parameters pH depends upon its relationship with those parameters. Please help.
Well. The soil pH is formed by different processes and depends of many different factors (geographical position, chemical processes, physical processes). A mathematical model has to join the action of all of these factors, in order to describe the acid-base behavior of the soil. Some papers have been published about it.

Probably identify all the factors that depend on pH, are not so easy to control mathematically and experimentally.
A description of the pH behavior of the soil is quite interesting. It would be important to consider biological factors such as the behavior of fungi and bacteria. The pH of the soil varies depending on the temperature, humidity, composition of the soil and biological aspects of the nature of the soil; we must consider the buffer to obtain information about the mobility of macro and micro-nutrients. A complete study of the soil where there is data of analytical interest on the quantity and types of nutrients, humidness, composition of the soil, etc., would be of great help to propose an adequate model; because there is a possibility that the soil is exhausted.
