I am using protozoans in antiprotozoal assays for different colored compounds. the method I found for differentiation between live and dead protozoan cells is the "use of trypan blue stain". The problem is that, I am working with colored compounds so trypan blue stain method doesn't work. The cells already get stained by the those colored compounds so trypan blue doesn't help. This makes the live and dead cell counting very difficult.
