Although this method is more time-consuming, it is a very effective way to create a lipid film.

Alternatively, freeze-drying can be used. For this approach, however, solvents such as tetr-butanol and cyclohexane are more suitable than chloroform and methanol.

Nitrogen drying gently evaporates the organic solvent under a steady flow of nitrogen, allowing controlled film formation without heat stress. Vacuum desiccation, performed overnight, ensures complete solvent removal under reduced pressure. I’ve worked with both methods, and based on the organic solvent volume and lipid ratios, the technique can be adjusted to ensure a completely dry and uniform lipid film.

I have a technical suggestion to your answer, though the process can be performed with your ways also. But, by using a hair dryer for drying of lipid film can be a makeshift alternative but is not ideal for reproducible liposome preparation. It lacks controlled temperature, uniform airflow, and solvent vapor management, which may lead to uneven film formation or residual solvent. Overheating is also a risk, especially for sensitive lipids.

Instead Nitrogen drying /Vacuum drying as suggested by Jakub Jagielski is better alternative for the same.
