What all can be used as a standard for dermal cytotoxicity assay (MTT) using HaCat cells?

The drug meant to be used is a gel. For dermal cytotoxicity study, have to conduct MTT assay in HaCaT cells using this gel with an incubation of 24hours. So, as standard group shouldn't we use an established gel material for assay? What all can be used as standard with respective concentration, solubility and dilution?
