I wanted to impose initial stress into a model by inistate command in workbench. but I find some problems with it. becuase all selected elements weren't selected or some times impose other stresses that I didn't define that. Idon't know why? could you help me? is there any other way to impose residual stress??

The following thesis tries to impose the residual stresses due to shot peening process. The author write a code in which he used inistate command to impose the residual stresses emanating due shot peening process. You can apply the same procedure to impose your residual stresses as an initial stress.

There are some selections has select then it can be activated after that you can get the push button on the point, line, surface, and the volume.
