After isolated of total RNA from blood lymphocytes what is the best way of transporting the RNA? After dissolving in DEPT-treated water what is the optimal way? Should the samples be on ice or what?
I think the best way is to transport the samples with dry ice. I experienced before degradation of RNA if they are not kept at -80 °C or transported with dry ice even for a short travel. If you need to froze and defroze the samples a couple of times, you may aliquote them.
The sample should be transported in dry ice for long way transport if you need just to go from room to room of the same lab you keep it on ice that's fine. As Julie suggested the best way to have a good sample after freezing is to have aliquots.
I agree with Mr. Bengrine. If you want to transport long distance your RNA sample you should use dry ice. Room to room transfer keep the sample in ice is okay even when you will run your experiment you should always keep the RNA sample on ice. For storage you can keep in sample in -80.
