Can anyone explain how to analyze western blots that contain multiple bands for a target protein in ImageJ? This image is for Tau 5 (total tau) but this also happens for pSer396. This is consistent across all blots I've run. To my understanding the literature shows this is expected for tau protein, however I can't seem to find a precise method for analyzing these bands. I typically gather the relative densities of my target protein and loading control in order to analyze, but it seems silly to individually analyze the two prominent tau bands and then state separately that each one is different.

For some context, in the image there are two lanes for each animal and I have four groups. My first lane (not in image) was my ladder and the last lane was empty.
