Antibodies that are specified for wb may or may not suitable for immuprecipitation, but most of the antibodies that are suitable for ELISA can be used for immunoprecipitation. THAT IS because they can recognize the protein in the native form.
Small experiment with minimum of your antibodies, to check if you have at least traces of the protein are precypitated/co-precypitated. Hope, after the scale-up to have one kilogram of the protein;)
Thank you everyone for their answers...actually most of my antibodies are either WB specific or are suitable for IHC/ immunocytochemistry and since i am using a commercially availabe kit, i am not sure if i shld use my limited number of columns for the same...so if anyone has actually tried using the WB specific antibodies for IP..please guide me...
