Hello,

I am trying to design a simple assay whereby I could measure various concentrations of peroxide in an analyte. Copper sulphate gives nice color gradation upon addition of peroxide and sodium bicarbonate, however it seems that the greenish product that is formed-presumably cuprous oxide (CuO2)- is a solid. Color change is obvious, but my question is-would that be a suitable system for an assay, the product being a solid? Because I would need to measure the end result spectrophotometrically.

Thank you !

P.S. I am aware of the HRP system that one can buy :) I just need a very cheap alternative.
