hi evryone.. i am setting up a new lab for cell culture, does anyone know what is the composition of Oxygen, CO2 and N2 inside the incubator
hi Indra, it depend on which cells you want to grow. Standard is 5% CO2.

thanks Hetty, we want to grow keratinocytes..and not going to manipulate oxygen level in the near future..we re going for standar 5% CO2..another question is our incubator installed only with CO2 tank and O2 and N2 tank is optional

a standard 5% CO2 means the 95% contains? atmosferic air?
Yes, you only have to install a CO2-tank, if you want an open option for N2 and O2, you need a different incubator.
If you plan to buy a new incubator, so you can change the N2 and O2 levels in the future, but you don't use these options, you'r better off with a 'normal' incubator. If you only use CO2 in such a incubator, then the 'O2 meter' will be soon broken. At least that's our experience.

thanks Grant and John..exactly how can we connet an incubator to house air (atmosferic) because it only have inlet for CO2, O2 and N2, the last two is optional...can we culture using incubator than only connect to a CO2 tank and none other (hetty thinks it can)
i know this issue i something is taken granted before, i never realized before, we ussualy programmed to 5 % CO2 ..but when being asked to set up a new lab..i got lost
