BioRad's precast TGX gels are great not only because you don't have to pour them, but I also find that they run so much faster than traditional SDS PAGE (From Maniatas book for example). Of course the recipe is proprietary but has anyone dug into the reason for this and come up with a fast running recipe of their own? Thanks!

It would be interesting to generate a faster gel recipe to reduce expenses on purchasing Biorads. We should join hands and try checking different concentrations of the gel solutions or buffets

It doesn't actually run any faster than any other precast gel or than my home made minigels (30 minutes at 35mA per gel).
Dominique, that sounds like the time/current I see with precast but my home made run twice as slow. Would you be so kind as to share your gel recipe?
