I have a question relating to the analysis of total phosphorus in a soil leachate sample. Well, I have done two variants of the analysis:
I - unfiltered sample, subjected to mineralisation and determined for total phosphorus
II- sample filtered through a 0.2 um PES filter, subjected to mineralisation and determined for total phosphorus
To my surprise, there was more phosphorus in the filtered sample than in the unfiltered sample, while both samples were mineralised. How can this be explained
You obviously realise that this is an analysis problem or you wouldn't be asking the question. We would need more information about the methods, including how close the results may lie to each other.
The Phosphorus sample can be done with molybdenum-antimony colorimetric method and P sample using the filtering soil leachate with a 0.45 μm microporous filter membrane, however Phosphorus (P) can leach from topsoil in inorganic and organic forms , inorganic P (orthophosphate) can leach to depth in some soils, The filter sample more phosphorous due to filter age, hydraulic overload, Please recheck the analysis.

The phosphorus decomposition process is carried out using a ready-to-use NanOX Metal (NANOCOLOR) kit. Phosphate determination is then carried out using the molybdate method. Differences in phosphorus content between filtered and unfiltered samples are sometimes up to twofold.
