The type of colony in the right side-top seems to be Azospirillum grown in YMA with Congo Red. In the center of the plate it suggests a huge contamination....I guess.
Carlos J. Bécquer Thank you sir, i am referring to the colony which have branching appearance. I want to know about that bacteria. Is it Azospirillum??
If you mean the big one on the center of the plate, it does not seem to be Azospirillum or any other bacteria belonging to Rhizobiaceae, since the type of the colony does not match those ones' traits. I'd rather think about Pseudomonas. I advise you to contact a colleague working on plant diseases caused by bacteria. Sorry not to give you an accurate response. Please, could you share the right information once you got it? Thanks and good luck!
It is difficult to tell without seeing a gram stain also . At first glance it reminds me of a bacillus ! Check the gram stain for apical spores . you could use an API system to check !
Thanks Gerry A Quinn Carlos J. Bécquer for your Suggestions. i will definitely go for gram staining. Actually i thought this bacteria as Paenibacillus.
It would be better if you upload the surface view of the colony rather than the view taken from the bottom side. In the first look like it appaers to be Pseudomonas (as suggested by Dr Carlos) or Bacillus sp. Please do Gram's satining and spore staining (culture is 2 or 3 days old). I will make to able to reach a conclusion (Bacillus or Pesudomonas).
