So, the red color is number 1 in the flags until now.
Red stands for blood. Countries that got independence by war have red. My country does not have red although not to say there were no protests and underground bloodsheds. Green represents agriculture. Agrarian countries have green.Nigeria has green, infact in two places, although petroleum has taken over the export earning. In addition, white stands for peace. My country also has it, just one patch. So we are supposed to be a place of peace.
Note that insurgence and herdsmen militia and boko haram were not there then. So we have only white and green.

Yes, I think green color is probably in most country flag whoever, my country flag has two color green and white.
