Abstract

“Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?“ This is certainly the most cited expression of the 21 century. We do not want to get old, and in this context a lot of hopeful are set on stem cell therapy for tissue regeneration: regeneration of skin, dermis, cartilage, bone, nervous sistem and so on. Most of all on our smile that it is our business card. Rapid and good regeneration of alveolar bone to support new dental implant is up to now ensured by the use adult mesenchymal stem cells. But are they able to conserve their stemness ability for all the age of the donors? In light of such consideration aim of the present work has been the study of the biological properties such as proliferation and stemness ability of human adult dental pulp stem cells (DPSC) in relation to the age of the donors and to the in vitro aging. Human dental pulps derived from adult subjects aged 16–over 66 years have been isolated and cultured in presence of differentiative medium. Results obtained confirmed a correlation between age and conservation of stemness during in vitro aging.

Thank you very much for the concern. That is good article. However I am looking for preparing mice model of dental pulp stem cell aging.Till now I have not seen any specific article related. I would appreciate anyone sharing their ideas to make the in vivo model.

Thank you very much. I had went through that report already before. They have checked the features of DPSCs from different ages. I am looking for any model using the young mice. There are some reports which say that oxidative stress by glucose or irradiation can cause stem cell senescence, but most of the works are focused on hematopoietic  stem cells or other cells. I think the similar principle may work. So, liked to take some references from already available literature.

Stem cell-based therapies are rapidly emerging as a potential strategy for tissue regeneration in many diseases. The goal of cellular therapy in regenerative medicine and dentistry is to replace, repair or enhance the biological functions of the damaged tissues or organs. 

The paper mentioned by Mr.Rafik Karaman describes a lot. It is really a good one. However; utmost importance must be given to the methods of isolation also. Please add this to your literature also if you like:
