I am currently exploring the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) methodology for a research project. I have a few questions that I hope the experts here can help clarify:
1. Integration of Fuzziness: How exactly is fuzziness integrated into the traditional AHP framework? Are there specific steps or modifications that need to be made to the standard AHP process to accommodate fuzzy logic?
2. Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFNs): In many FAHP applications, TFNs are used. Could someone explain the rationale behind using TFNs and how they are typically constructed and applied in decision-making scenarios?
3. Consistency in Pairwise Comparisons: How is consistency maintained or assessed in the pairwise comparison matrices when using fuzzy logic? Are there specific consistency ratios or indices used in FAHP?
4. Defuzzification Methods: What common defuzzification techniques are used in FAHP to derive crisp priorities from fuzzy values? Are there any preferred methods depending on the application context?
5. Software Tools: Are there any recommended software tools or packages that facilitate the implementation of FAHP? Any suggestions for resources or tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

NM- I cannot precisely answer this question, and I understand that you cannot use Eigen Values or GM is you use FAHP, but instead I formulate another question.
Fuzzy is a valuable technique, however, I ask:
If you have fundamental reasons to believe that the two or three values, i.e., minimum, medium and maximum (using TFN), have been obtained after reasoning, expertise, researching and analysis, fuzzy can be indeed a very good tool, but what is the logic in using fuzzy to improve invented or intuitive values, derived from pair-wise comparisons?
Of course, you will have a crisp value that adequately represent the answers from using pair-wise caparisons, but they do represent what is in the mind of the DMs, that is not related to reality. Thus, what is it good for?

NM- Well, I guess that there could be reasons, related to the characteristics of a criterion, to decide using TFN

NM- This is a question I have asked myself.
Assuming that consistency is necessary - something for me unneeded and unreal - remember that the method forces the DM to modify his estimates to reach transitivity.
In doing so, which was the purpose of using fuzzy?

NM- I do not know. But I guess that you work adding up the intersections of triangles comparing two criteria, and the finding the average of all criteria.
