We need to collect CSF samples repeatedly from the 4th or lateral ventricle of rats. Does anyone know of a protocol for implanting a cannula to be able to do this? Or even a protocol for this method of collection would be great. Thanks.
Ramachandra Setty Siddamsetty Thanks for the answer. I have searched some procedures of intracerebroventricular annulation, and most of them are for injection. I think CSF extraction is more difficult than injection. Do you have any protocols regarding the CSF extraction from lateral ventricle? Thank you very much.
I read a procedure that a olythene tube is inserted and the out end shall be little longer and sealed the end with heat. Whenever sample to be drawn, the tip is cut and CSF is collected and resealed. It can be used for 4-5 samples. But as of now I do not have a protocol, that can be adopted.
