I am working on inflammatory responses of corneal epithelial cells to certain stimuli. We have procured primary corneal cells for this purpose. However, the primary cells can be passaged for 4-6 times only. I wish to develop a cell line for prolonged use. Where can I get a working protocol to immortalize corneal cells so that I can passage them for minimum 40-50 times ?

An SV-40 immortalised cell line derived from human corneal epithelial cells can be purchased from Riken Cell Bank in Japan. The cell line is referred to as HCE-T. Has been a useful model in our hands although we mostly grow primary cultures from limbal epithelium.
