I'm looking for a cell line that would contain an integrated SIV, with a known number of SIV copies, other than 3D8. Much like ACH2, which contains 1 copy HIV, except SIV. Any suggestions?
Yes, I would assume. Just go to any reference source/data base (e.e. PubMed) type in your inquiry. With known number of copies - that is a tough one - you might have look at several lines if that information exist.
If the HIV or SIV is not defective it can replicate and thus change copy number of integrations. There are probably dozens of ways to create a cell line with one single integrated copy of a single viral genome, but any normal T-cell with a non-defective retrovirus insertion can change very rapidly.
