If i am taking reading from Elasa and Spectrophotometric,so which types of changes appear in reading?Like catalase. So can i do my research work on ELISA or not?
Are you asking whether you can use the plate reader that is used for ELISAs for another kind of assay? What instrument are you using? Is it an absorbance plate reader? Does it select the wavelength with filters or a monochromator?
There are various absorbance-based methods for measuring the activities of enzymes. For example, the activity of oxidoreductases that consume or produce NADPH or NADH can be measured by the change in absorbance at 340 nanometers. Oxidases can often be coupled to horseradish peroxidase and Amplex Red to generate an absorbance change at 563 nm. Can you tell us what enzymes you are interested in? These measurements can readily be performed in 96-well clear polystyrene ELISA plates.
