Is the scientific value of the research depends on the name, type and place of the scientific journal in which the publication or the research itself ?
A reviewed book is mostly more valuable as an article. In online-times the value of an article is less dependent from a publisher, or a ranking of esteem.
Reputation and prestige bring the bulk of readers' attention to certain journals. However, a research value ought to be and used to be measured according to the research's true merits, irrespective of the journal's rank.
The value of research depends largely on the article itself.
It was in the past that the journal matters a lot. With the advent of information and communication technologies, wherever you publish doesn't matter anymore. Rather, the quality of your paper.
I would think IEEE but I know people who have published in Nature ...
Again IEEE is Engineering , we can engineer pretty much everything (Thanks to 3D) , Nature cannot be explained or understood in depth .. So YES it matters ...
I agree with @Aristidis Matsoukis and @ Anastas Ivanov Ivanov: Тhe scientific value of [a journal] do NOT depend on the name, type and place of the scientific journal in which the publication is published.
Ironically, there are many seemingly obscure journals that are extremely important and valuable as venues for the publication of scientific papers.
I get some new information by the comment of James F. Peters, but have no experience in this field, therefore I think, it is a very important message. If this is right, that "many seemingly obscure journals that are extremely important and valuable as venues for the publication of scientific papers", than questions about fake journals (I often see in RG) need particulary careful judgements.
Interesting question and interesting answers. In my opinion, generally the accepted version of the current scientific paradigm is reflected in the most prestigious journals which publishes articles which add new information, but yet keeps the paradigm in tact . However this does not mean that the work of scientists that go beyond the current paradigm is not valuable.. In the long run this research will be seen as being the most relevant even if it was not published in the most important journals. This does not apply to all new research, just the research which is eventually seen as fitting into the new paradigm.

In majority of the cases good research is get published in reputed journals, so this statement seems to be true up to a large extent. But really good piece of research published in low quality of journals can not be ignored.
Away from companies and investment research and scientific publishing, The real researcher is not affected by the name of the journal. The scientific value of the research imposes itself wherever it is published and under any name or from any scientific center where the research is done
The name, place and type of a scientific journal do not in any way affect HOW a study is conducted. It just exerts an influence on the style of the writing of the research paper (dictated by the manuscript template or guidelines).
Yes, the scientific value of the research depends in large part on all that mentioned above. As for the researcher himself, he is keen on his reputation and tries to raise his scientific value through his published research, which must be at an appropriate level. The research also derives its value from the nature of the subject being researched and the problem he tries to solve. In the framework of which, whenever the subject matter of a large segment of people as much as the value of scientific, in addition to the name of the magazine published, the high impact factor value journals are keen to accept only outstanding research for publication to maintain its weight and scientific value among other magazines.
The scientific value of the research depends on the content of the research of ideas and scientific presentation. While the publisher's name and address give moral and confidence values to the published research.
I think how many times your article getting citation that matter. just look at the article published by Kenneth J. Livak et al, 2001. this article had huge citations ( but it was published in methods). it is Cited by 81598 times.
The scientific value of an investigation should depend directly on the quality of its content, in terms of technological innovation, or the discovery of new and original knowledge. This is the Ideal.
In practice in many countries, depends on the catalog already known and disseminated scientific journals that are considered to be of higher quality by publishing in English, have Editorial Committee of Experts (peers) to evaluate the work to be published, and have the greatest value of the Impact Indicator.
No. Scientific values of a research lie in the content of the article but promoted through the name, title or sometimes in the location where the publication is made.
The scientific value of the research does not depend on the name, type and place of the scientific journal in which the publication ,it purely depend upon kind and nature and importance of the research.
In mathematics if you are able to give an example which satisfies to all preliminary conditions of an assertion but contradicts to the conclusion then it is considered that the assertion is false. Hence, if somebody knows a paper which was published in an “important journal” but afterwards it was realized that the main result is not true then the mathematical answer to your question is no. In order to be rigorous I should mention at least a concrete paper. Believe me there are known several cases. Probably you can find some cases by yourself. It should be also mentioned that the real life is not mathematics.
Is the scientific value of the research depends on the name, type and place of the scientific journal in which the publication or the research itself?
Dear Malik,
Humans normally perceive articles published in top journals as better. However this does not necessary mean these articles are the most valuable or even the best..
