I´ve found some weird structures in my cell culture flask. They seem to be under the cells or sticking to the plate, not floating. I have seen mold contamination before, and it doesn´t look like that.
Alif Ismail I'm growing 143B cancer cells. Yes, exactly, It doesn't focus with my cells, that is what confuses me. I changed them to another flask to see what happens...
Alba Martinez Perlado I see. That should be fine, if you're worried you can let the cells grow for a few days and check for any sign of contamination (if your media change colors faster than usual, turbidity etc). But for me that's probably just fiber, maybe from your PBS if you prepared PBS by yourself.
You need not worry. If it was contamination, your culture would have either changed color, become turbid or given a foul odour. Sometimes, the culture flask could have some defects which could look suspicious in brightfield.
If your cells are growing well, I would suggest that you wipe the bottom exterior of the flask with 70% ethanol since they are under the cells or sticking to the flask, and view again under the microscope. Maybe those marks may disappear.
