Hi researchers,
Based on the SEM images of the membrane cross section, at the sub-layer of a porous membrane, there are many long macro-voids. Can these macro-voids be considered as micro-channels and Washburn equation, then, be used for describing the behavior of the liquid into these macro-voids?

We do not see even a single connection of voids to a surface. It does not looks like these voids are the primary source of membrane permeability. May be you need better focused SEM pictures at higher magnifications.

Briefly, I suggest you to study the membrane tortuosity thoroughly as it is influnceial factor in membrane permeability ,which has a direct relation and refer to the pore size and pore size distribution style.....
