I want to produce PES solutions using DMSO as the solvent. I have some tiny white particles in my polymeric solutions even after 48 h mixing using magnetic stirrer at 50 C. I doubt on the PES powder purity and bought a new packed box of PES powder. However, the problem did not solve. I saw that the white coated magnets have some black lines after using them in this solution! I understood that the coating is being removed by the DMSO solvent. How can I mix my solutions without using a magnet!!!
I saw the same problem on a website and I attached the text and photo.

I think this problem may appear due to the long-time using of the same magnet, or its quality is not good enough to maintain for several weeks. I suggest you use a high-quality magnet or use a mechanical stirrer instead.
Dear all, use sonication mixing bath, i.e., you can make the solution by ultrasound mixing, but becarefull, some polymers are sensitive to degradation under sonication. First check literature. My Regards

The stainless steel exhibits the best corrosion resistance in different concentration of DMSO. So, you can use a kitchen mixer.

Maybe you can use a shaker equipment in an reasonable rotation or a mechanical agitator.

Thank you so much for your help. I bought some other magnets produced in a leading company and the problem was solved. It was because the first group of magnets did not have enough quality and the coated PTEE layer was separated after a short time!!!!!
